Irish-born, South African-raised Catherine Deane honed her talents in the chic, bustling metropolis of Hong Kong where she garnered a massive following of the city’s most stylish inhabitants. Before long Catherine was being talked about in glossys across the world as she became the go-to designer of elegant, effortless evening gowns for celebrities such as Beyonce and Taylor Swift.
Catherine continued her reign of ready-to-wear in London in 2005 before bringing her bridal designs to London’s East End in 2013. In the last year she has become a huge name in the bridal industry, noted for her fantastical, feminine creations. Catherine cites her largely nomadic lifestyle as the primary inspiration for her unique and elusive designs, she also notes a passion for traditional craft techniques, which she ties into modern, simple silhouettes and the finest of fabrics. Delicate French lace, dreamy tulle and the softest silks combine to create something strong yet fragile, perfectly balanced, or as the designer herself puts it; ‘where every Ying has a Yang’.
