We’ve noticed the travel theme really picking up pace in the wedding world in the last few months – and for good reason! Many long-term couples have had the luxury of travelling together before deciding to settle down to their new life and want to bring their great experiences to their big day. On the other hand, some couples may wish to invoke a travel theme to represent their dream of experiencing the world together in the future as newlyweds. Whatever your reason for this incredibly workable theme, we’re sure you’ll find some inspiration in today’s moodboard.
Kraft paper invitations, and plenty of burlap and twine balanced with gorgeously light floral accents comprise this pretty travel theme moodboard, and all are great ways to get started creating your own dreamy décor. There are plenty of gorgeous travel-themed items in the weddingsonline shop to get you started. Other ideas are to set up a vintage suitcase for cards and well wishes, and use luggage tag name cards for each place setting. A table plan posted on a giant map is a cool addition, while travel books, vintage style compasses, globes and framed cityscapes can really make your tables pop.
After dinner you can use the table plan map as a photo booth backdrop and add the vintage style suitcase as a prop! Stamps are a cool way to jazz up plain stationery, or can be used as cake décor. For food, why not serve a dish or dessert inspired by one of your favourite cities? After the ceremony, set up a stall serving light and refreshing che from Hanoi, or put on a Mediterranean style drinks reception of Sangria with an array of tapas to enjoy, or maybe in the evening break out some pizza slices inspired by street vendors in New York?
