“I can recall the store associate holding up two gowns as possible options and I genuinely thought she had two of the same dress… I wanted a dress that was fashion forward, completely unique, luxurious, and sophisticated all rolled into one.” And so begins the story of UK designer Elizabeth Stuart‘s foray into wedding fashion. Like many modern female designers, Stuart’s line came out of her own experiences as a bride-to-be when it came to finding ‘the one’ – for her, something alternative and contemporary but also elegant and luxurious for her 2009 wedding. And here five years later after the success of her 2012/2013 bridal collections, Stuart is pushing the boat out even further for her 2015 offering by creating breathtakingly beautiful ‘future meets fairytale’ gowns for brides with her vision of something less ‘ordinary’.
The 2015 collection brings together Stuart’s playful personality with her eagle eye for embellishment to create the look for a modern princess. Billowing skirts, soft bodices and luxurious laces merge to flatter the feminine figure by putting emphasis on the waist and creating perfectly flowing curves. Aysymmetrical crop tops and separates give this collection its hard, contemporary edge while low backs, lace and blush soften the overall feel. The weddingsonline girls are currently swooning over the gorgeous Grecian style halter ‘Aspen’, the daringly low backed ‘Petal’ and the edgy, non-conforming crop topped ‘Moonflower’.
