We met…  Myself and Gordon met at a night club in my hometown Clonmel while Gordon was down visiting a friend who had recently moved there to work and, as they say, the rest was history…

Our proposal… Gordon took me by surprise on the night of my 30th birthday by getting down on one knee surrounded by our family and friends. He had originally planned on asking me a few days later but that changed as my father had mistakenly informed my family at home that Gordon was going to propose the night of my 30th! So Gordon decided to take the bull by the horns and asked me that night.

What our bridal party wore…  The bridesmaids wore beautiful Forever Yours dresses which I got from Alexanders Bridal in Parnell Street in Dublin. They were knee length in an ice pink colour which I thought suited our summer time wedding.

My dress…  My dress was a Mia Solano dress which I purchased at The Bridal Outlet Baldoyle. It was a dark ivory lace gown with beaded details at the waistline, I knew the minute I put the dress on it was the one for me.

His suit… Gordon and the groomsmen’s suits were from Monza in Dawson Street.

We chose our photographer because…  After a lot of looking around we came upon Konrad Kubic’s work and immediately liked what we saw. His work was very natural and in the moment which is what we were looking for and I have to say on the day of the wedding we hardly noticed his presence. He was very professional and we cannot recommend him highly enough.

Our ceremony…  Our ceremony was a civil ceremony in the Great Hall of the O’Carrolls in Kinnitty Castle, we both loved this room from the first time we viewed it a year and a half earlier and knew that with all the candles and fairy lights it was the perfect setting for our ceremony.  I felt very emotional as I stood there with my Dad before we walked down the aisle, once I got inside the venue and looked up to see Gordon standing there it was like no one else was in the room, it was the most amazing feeling.

Our wedding theme/colours… Our wedding theme was based around the superb settings of Kinnitty Castle. From our invitations to the bridesmaid dresses and wedding flowers (from Little Daisy Flowers, Dublin) the main colour was an Ice Pink.

We chose our venue because… We loved Kinnitty Castle’s romantic atmosphere from the moment we viewed it, the surroundings are amazing and the castle itself added to the overall experience of what we believed was our fairy-tale wedding.

My favourite part of the wedding day… The most special part of our wedding day was walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing Gordon waiting for me, also watching all of our family and friends relaxing and sunning themselves in the courtyard after the ceremony where we all got to relax and enjoy the moment.

Our honeymoon…  For our honeymoon we went to the Algarve for ten days to chill out and unwind. After all the preparations leading up to the wedding it was lovely to be able to relax and wind down together.

My piece of advice for other brides…  Make sure you steal ten minutes or so alone at some stage during the day. We sat and had a drink on our own while everyone was getting seated for the meal and it’s just nice to have those few minutes to yourselves. Enjoy all the preparations in the lead up to the wedding. Try to not get to stressed about the little things – it all works out in the end. Relax and enjoy the day with your family and friends as the day goes by too quickly.
