Fallon’s Blog: Our real bridal blogger makes the final touches for the big day!

Real Weddings

Well, it’s just over a week until the big day. I’m not quite sure when that happened, feels like it’s upon me all of a sudden. You go from wishing the day would come to wanting to put the brakes on. The last few weeks have been pretty hectic; I had my hen weekend in Liverpool, which was fantastic. I was in a little bubble of love surrounded by my closest friends and I enjoyed every minute. It’s such a bizarre thing though to be on your own hen party. I have to say I was a little nervous about the whole thing. I really wanted all my friends to get on and have a good time and I really should have known better than to worry about them!

Last Minute Merchants

So, now that the days are whizzing by, I have lists upon lists of things I need to get done. There is a slight panic bubbling beneath the surface but I’m sure I’ll be fine. The main things left to do are finalise church and venue decor and my booklets, oh and bridesmaids’ shoes and their hair clips… and himself needs shoes… and his groomsmen and then… yep, there’s more where that came from. But the main thing to remember is do not panic! I’m going to do as much as possible in the next week so that I can relax in the last few days running up to the wedding. Well, I say that, and it’s the sensible thing to do but I’m one of those Christmas Eve shoppers; last minute merchant!

Rain Protection?!

When you get married in winter I think you resign yourself to the fact that the weather is going to be crap. It’s not like in summer when you are praying for sun. I fully expect rain. Don’t get me wrong I’d love a cold, crisp winter day with the sun shining through, but I doubt that will be the case and it’s better to be safe than sorry as they say. With this in mind, I have a question for you guys; What are you winter brides doing for rain protection? I love parasols or Victorian-style umbrellas but they all seem really expensive €20 a pop and if you need four or five it’s a big cost. Has anyone found cheaper alternatives?
