Dog people love hard, their four legged friends are just as important (maybe more important!) as their human family and friends, so why wouldn’t you have them at your wedding day?
Having your furry friend in attendance is a fun idea but it can be challenging so it’s best to be well prepared for all eventualities! To help you out we’ve put together a guide on how to include your pet whilst making your day even more memorable, and without any stress.
Read on for our advice and the cutest pooches you’ll see today!
Know your dog
Every dog is different, their individual characters are what makes us love them even more. Some are super chilled out and will happily lie at your feet when you’re saying your vows, whilst others will be full of energy and intrigue at what is happening to its owners. Know your dogs personality and temperament and keep that in mind when you are making your plans.
Enlist a designated dog sitter on the day
Asking a friend or family member to be in charge of your pooch will help lessen the stress and practicalities on the day. Of course, it’s essential the helper knows and loves your dog as much as you so they are able to handle them if your dog becomes overwhelmed by the day.
Be ready to have things go a little off piste
Be prepared for the possibility that your dog might become interested in the flowers and have a nosey, tipping over an arrangement – and other such fun things. Things might go a tiny bit wrong, but that’s okay if you are happy to accept the situation!
Let your pooch be the centre of attention
Yes, there’s a very good chance your pooch will get more attention than you do! Especially if they are dressed in the finest floral crown or a mini dog tux!
Inform your suppliers
Not all your suppliers will be dog people, and that’s okay, but make sure your ceremony and reception venue allow pets, and inform any on the day suppliers such as your photographer and videographer.
Enjoy every crazy second!
No matter what mishaps might happen, having your dog at your wedding is totally worth it, and even if things go a bit crazy you’ll look back on your day and laugh at the memories made!
