We met… We met through horses, we are both from the same town so we always knew each other.
Our proposal… It was Christmas eve and he asked me to wrap a little present he had gotten for our daughter Sadie. She came out wearing a bib saying ‘mammy will you marry daddy’ – he got down on one knee and asked, it was too cute!!
My dress… was by Maggie Sottero. I got it from Truly Bridal Boutique Naas, I am still so in love with it even if it’s only hanging in my press!!
My hair and make-up… My hair was done by Karen Fennell and my make-up was done by Makeup by Patrice. Both girls blew me away, they did amazing work
His suit… was from The Man’s Shop in Newbridge.
Our ceremony… Finesse Weddings decorated our church. Mary was amazing down to the very last detail, she really gave me everything I asked for, I cannot recommend her enough. Our music was by Alan Brereton – he was so nice to deal with and amazing and very professional on the day. I could just listen to his voice all day.
We chose our venue The Keadeen Hotel because… if you have ever been to a wedding at the hotel, you will understand why we went there. The ball room is amazing, it has so much elegance and class. The food is out of this world, we had so many compliments on the food that day and how amazingly beautiful the room was. The staff in the hotel went above and beyond to make our day perfect and we are so thankful to them. They made our dreams come true.
What our bridal party wore… The bridesmaids wore dresses I got online – the tops were from Warehouse, my amazing Auntie Katie O’Connell did all the alterations. The boys wore suits from Richie Whelan’s Menswear in Naas.
Our honeymoon… We went to Lanzarote to relax and enjoy the sunshine. It really was amazing to get to relax and enjoy each other’s company after such a crazy week with the run up to the wedding.
We chose our photographer because… Mark Donovan Photography had done my hubby’s sister’s wedding and I remember looking at the picture and thinking WOW so we never looked anywhere else. We knew it had to be Mark capturing all our special moments on the day.
My favourite part of the wedding day… had to be walking up the aisle, it was such a special time with my dad and then getting to see Andrew, it was so overwhelming but looking back it’s something I keep thinking about and will cherish forever.
My piece of advice for other couples… enjoy the day, don’t panic about the little things. Don’t be nervous – it’s one day all about you as a couple so enjoy it. Make sure to spend time together as much as possible. Don’t try to please others, it’s all about you two for that one day.
