How did you meet and get engaged?
We met 15 years ago in a local bar and bonded over music. After a bit of convincing on Ciaran’s part, we started going out and haven’t looked back since. We got engaged on a dull August Wednesday during a walk after work with our dog Gonzo. Ciaran surprised the life out of Sinead in a woods in Midleton.

Describe your wedding:
We had a celestial theme as Ciaran has an interest in astronomy. Our main theme colours were gold and silver with hints of green and burgundy. Gold and the sun represented the male and silver and the moon represented the female form so we brought in the burgundy and green through our flowers from Ina McCarthys in Midleton. We also had Rachel from Ina’s implant important aspects of Sinead’s life and interests such as apples and berries to represent nutrition and food.

Our ceremony was held in St Peters in Cork and we had a moon projected on the wall and hung fairy lights to mimic a starlit night.

Our reception was in the Imperial Hotel and we worked closely with the fab Lynda and Jim. We included Jameson bottles on some of the tables to tie in our link to living and getting engaged in Midleton and disco balls to represent our love of dancing.

Tell us about your bridal look:
Sinead wore a pearl boat cut neck cape style dress with a customised ombre cape designed with stars and paired with a star headband. The style was a twist on Hollywood vintage glam.

What was your ceremony like?
It was great. We booked St Peters on North min street as it is a stunning building and Rosita and the team are very open to helping you design it as you wish.

Tell us about your wedding venue:
We went with the Imperial Hotel as we love their art deco vintage style and the staff are always on the ball. Once we met Lynda it sealed the deal and they couldn’t have done enough for us and make us and our family and friends feel more than welcome.

What is your favourite memory from your wedding day?
Ciaran: the first look we planned in the penthouse of the Imperial as it provided me the option to see Sinead in an intimate setting with just the two of us and allowed us to hold onto that feeling.

Sinead: the first look for me too as it broke any nervous tension and gave us the opportunity to share that special moment together as that was our goal from when we started planning (to remember why we were getting married in the first place).

Have you got any advice for other couples?
Make a list of what is important and why you are getting married. It helps to drown out the wedding noises and helps you stick to the plan you’ve both put together. Any tip is to dedicate a night such as a Friday to sitting down together, have a drink or food and plan.
