“There was a lot of laughter in the church!”

We met… We met in a Dublin pub called Flannery’s. I was with my friend and Michael came over to talk to me. We got on so well from the minute we started talking. As my friend and I were leaving the pub, Michael asked for my number. He didn’t waste any time in texting and texted me later that night. As they say the rest is history! Our proposal… Michael Proposed to me on two weeks holiday in Sri Lanka. After dinner one night Michael suggested we go for a walk on the beach and as we were walking back he went down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was a total shock and I was over the moon. Our wedding theme/colours… We didn’t really have a wedding theme as such, we just wanted the wedding to be elegant and a really fun day for everyone. We didn’t want a matchy-matchy day so everything was a little different but our main colours were pink and grey.My favourite part of the wedding day… On honeymoon I asked Michael what his favourite part of our wedding day was and was surprised when his was the same as mine. We both agreed that our favourite part of the day was the ceremony. Our priest put us and our guests at ease with his laid back manner and funny comments. There was a lot of laughter in the church. It was very special. What our bridal party wore… Our best man and groomsman wore dark blue suits with brown shoes and a brown belt with navy bow-ties. My bridesmaids wore a a platinum grey colour. I had two bridesmaids and a junior bridesmaid. The two bridesmaids wore floor length dresses with different style tops, one was a boob-tube top and the other was a one shoulder top. My junior bridesmaid wore the same colour in knee length with thick straps. We got our bridesmaids dresses in Wedding World, Galway. Our honeymoon… We spent two weeks in Bali. It was an amazing time with a lot of much needed relaxation. We booked our honeymoon through Trailfinders who were brilliant. We chose our photographer because… We chose our photographer because we had seen some of his pictures and thought they were excellent. We also knew he would be able to give us the storybook effect of the day in the pictures, which we really wanted. Our photographer was Aindreas Lynch of ATL Photography. He was an absolute pleasure to deal with and he got the most amazing pictures of our day. He got some brilliant natural pictures which showed the fun and laughter we had on our wedding day, pictures we will treasure forever. I also loved that Aindreas got the best pictures for us in the least amount of time, which meant we had plenty of time with our guests. We also got a photo booth and candy cart from ATL PhotoBooth which the guests loved! We chose our venue because… We chose our wedding venue for many reasons but the main reason was because of its beautiful setting, the hotel had amazing views of Lough Ree and the surrounding areas. We also chose here because it is family run and has a very homely feel. The staff at Glasson Country House Hotel were superb, they always had a smile and a helping hand. The food was delicious with plenty to go around. The honeymoon suite was huge with a beautiful view! Our menu… Our food was great, Glasson supplied our guests with gorgeous canapes and afternoon tea with loads for everyone. Our menu was very traditional, as we wanted people to enjoy it, and didn’t want to exclude people by having an exotic menu. To start we had chicken vol-au-vents followed by vegetable soup, then a choice of beef or salmon, finishing up with a trio of desserts and tea or coffee. Later that evening we had a selection of sandwiches, chicken pieces, mini pizzas and chips in cones. We also had a candy cart at the reception. My piece of advice for other brides… would be to enjoy every minute of the day and also the build up to the day. It’s such an exciting and wonderful time, and family and friends are so excited and happy for you both. Also try not to worry about the little hiccups that occur prior to the big day because on the day itself you won’t give them a second thought as you will be on cloud nine!SuppliersDress: Ciara Bridal | Suits, shoes, socks: Collar and Cuff | Bridesmaids’ Dresses: Wedding World, Galway City | Bridal Hairpiece: Ciara Bridal | Flowers: Clare’s Flowers, Ballinasloe | Hair: Anita, Hair Gallery | Make-up: Audrey O Connor, Essence of Beauty | Cake and cake stand: Grace Daniels | Band: Weightless Astronauts | Wedding Singers: Blush Choir | Wedding Cars: MS Wedding Car Hire | Photography: ATL Photography | Reception: Glasson Lakehouse | Candy Cart: ATL PhotoBooth | Photobooth: ATL PhotoBooth
