“He made a slideshow of different pictures of us with different captions, the last one being – ‘My wife??’”

We met… In Winters bar and restaurant in 2006. I was working there at the time and Dave and his friends were regulars there! Our proposal… Dave proposed to me on our first Christmas in our new house! He made a slideshow of different pictures of us with different captions, the last one being – ‘My wife??’ And then he got down on one knee and proposed! My dress… I had no idea what dress I wanted. I am not the greatest at making decisions so wasn’t sure how the dress hunt would go. I ended up picking my dress in The White Room in Mullingar. I completely adored it. It was so different from anything else I had tried on and I had never seen any other dress like it before. So many guests at the wedding said the same. I loved the atmosphere in The White Room because it was so relaxed. I had Claire helping me on the day and she was amazing and so nice! Our ceremony… We had our ceremony in Tubberclair church in Glasson. Monsignor Dan O’Connor was our priest. He is an old family friend of Dave’s family so it was amazing to have him marry us. The ceremony was lovely and relaxed. His suit… Dave’s suit was from Neon Bertoni on Talbot Street. All the staff were so professional, from the first fitting to the last. Nothing was ever a problem. Emer and Niamh made it all so easy for us. They kitted the lads out in the most stylish modern suits. Everyone looked super smart and the suits fit them like a glove. We chose our photographer because… He had been recommended to us by Matt Ryan, our videographer. We had seen Matt’s work and loved it so knew he wouldn’t steer us in the wrong direction. When we met our photographer Eric Ronan (Eric Ronan Photography), we immediately clicked with him and booked him for our wedding. He was unreal on the day. So many of our guests have said this to us since the wedding. He looked after me so well on the day, always making sure my dress was okay and that I was comfortable and didn’t fall over! Matt and Eric together make a great team, are super professional and both gentlemen. We couldn’t have been happier with our DVD and wedding album. Our wedding theme/colours… We didn’t start out with a specific theme. We just knew we wanted our wedding to be relaxed, welcoming and fun! We ended up with a beautiful pastel colour scheme which was made complete with stunning bouquets from Dooleys florist in Athlone. We could not recommend them enough. We were looked after by Orlagh and she is an expert to say the least. We chose our wedding venue because… The amazing grounds, the view, the staff, the food, the service, the attention to detail, the professionalism and the overall atmosphere. Glasson Lakeside truly is one of Ireland’s hidden gems. From the first time we walked in there we felt so welcome. Fidelma, Niall, Robyn, Gareth and Rachael really are top class when it comes to providing the best day ever for people. Every single staff member is amazing. We are glad we had our wedding there. They really went above and beyond for us.Our favourite part of the wedding day… We had the best day EVER!!! If we had to pick, it would be when I walked up the aisle and we saw each other after all the build up. You put so much time, effort, money and thought into the day and when you see each other you completely relax! My piece of advice for our couples… Don’t try and suit everyone because that’s impossible. It’s your day and so much goes in to it so make the decisions you want to because they will be the right ones in the end. Also enjoy every single bit of the lead up and the day because it goes by so fast!
