Hen Party Movies To Watch With Your Girls

Hen Party

Hen parties are full of amazing experiences and fun moments for everybody involved! No matter where you’re headed, you’ll want to have as much fun as possible. And we guarantee that at some point in the festivities, there will come a moment where you’ll want to pause from all the high-energy activities. And what better way to slow down than with a fun chick flick? There are so many ways to include hen party movies in the festivities. You could start the party with a film before heading out for drinks and dancing, or you could finish off the fun with a morning viewing of your favourite pick.

And hey, if you’ve already got a full schedule, you could always host a pre-hen party movie night with your wedding party! However you plan to enjoy them, keep these hen party movies in mind…

Bridesmaids (2011)

Bridesmaids is a firm favourite, featuring Kristen Wiig who plays Maid of Honour to her best friend, played by Maya Rudolph. This stellar cast features Rose Byrne, Ellie Kemper, Melissa McCarthy and Wendi McLendon-Covey and is full of mayhem, dress fittings spoiled by food poisoning and the most hilarious hen party meltdown. If you’re looking for laugh-out-loud moments, this is your number one pick!

Rough Night (2017)

Four friends (played by Jillian Bell, Ilana Glazer, Scarlett Johansson and Zoe Kravitz) want to relive their glory days so they get together for a crazy bachelorette weekend in Miami. After picking up the bride’s friend (played by Kate McKinnon), things take a turn when the male stripper turns up dead and the ladies try to cover their tracks!

Sex and the City: The Movie (2008)

You can enjoy this movie without having seen a single episode of Sex and the City, the TV show. In the movie, Carrie (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) has a big wedding coming up. The festivities include a glamorous bachelorette party, a beautiful rehearsal dinner and an incredible honeymoon in Mexico – with her friends (Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon) tagging along after she (spoiler alert!) got left at the altar.

The Hangover (2009)

This may seem like more of a ‘guy movie’ but it is absolutely hilarious and perfect for a co-ed party. Before Doug (Justin Bartha) gets married, he sets off to Sin City with his two besties (Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms) and his peculiar soon-to-be brother-in-law (Zach Galifianakis). The group soon loses Doug and have to retrace their steps from the night before so they can make it back to California in time for the wedding!

Princess Diaries (2001)

Awkward teen, Mia (played by Anne Hathaway) is caught off guard when she finds out she is a real-life princess. With the help of her grandmother, Queen Clarisse (played by Julie Andrews), Mia begins her comical journey to the throne. She has “princess lessons” and an epic makeover to boot!

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005)

Four besties (Blake Lively, America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn) are forced to go their separate ways for a few months over the summer. They soon realise that no matter where they are in the world, they are connected by a pair of magical jeans that they take turns sharing. Featuring beautiful shots of Santorini and lots of ‘girl power’ moments, this movie is a winner!

Pitch Perfect (2012)

Beca (played by Anna Kendrick) doesn’t want to be part of a college clique, but that’s exactly where she finds herself when she joins an acapella group. She helps the girls to get out of their comfort zone and into interesting harmonic combinations as they compete in college music competitions.

John Tucker Must Die (2006)

Three ex-girlfriends (Sophia Bush, Arielle Kebbel and Ashanti) of a serial cheater (Jesse Metcalfe) come up with a genius plan to get their revenge. They befriend the new girl in town (Brittany Snow) and help her win his heart, only to break it!
