How to Throw a Virtual Hen Party

Bridesmaids, Covid-19, Hen Party

If your bestie is getting married (or was due to get married) soon, then social distancing has probably thrown off your hen party plans. But with modern technology and amazing online tools like Zoom and Google hangouts, there’s no reason you can’t throw a virtual hen party. This is a fab way to celebrate with the bride-to-be, pamper her from afar and make her feel special!

We highly recommend a virtual hen party, so here are some fun ideas for you! From accessories to activities and more…

Gifts

Ask guests to send in lovely gifts which the bride-to-be can open during the virtual hen party! There are lots of gorgeous gifts you can order online. From treats for the bride-to-be, like beautifully packaged wine gifts from Wines Direct, to date night experiences in the form of gift vouchers from Charlotte Quay!

Decorate the space

We love the cute hen party decorations you can get at Jokeshop.ie, so take a look at their decoration package. Why not have a competition to see which guest has the best backdrop! And as a nice gesture, send the bride-to-be some amazing decorations so she can kit out her own home for the party.

Have a dance party

If you’re up for getting a little fancy with Zoom, here’s a fun way to have a little dance party. The host of the call should have a song ready to share (we recommend something fun and upbeat like Shake it Off by Taylor Swift). Click the Share Screen button at the bottom, then click the box to share computer sound. Play your track of choice and get everyone to dance. Once you’re all dancing, hit the ‘spotlight’ button on the attendees’ videos. It’s a virtual version of having a camera zoom in on you at a sports game. Everybody loves it!

Host a virtual cocktail hour

If you’re in the mood for a quick toast, you can buy your favourite wines online with WineOnline.ie.

And if you’re up for a cocktail-making activity, try The Pink Lady, a firm favourite at The Church:

40ml Sloe Gin
15ml Apricot Brandy
10ml Monin Bitters
25ml Lemon Juice
10ml Sugar Syrup
40ml Pasteurised Egg Whites
Dash Of Angostura bitters

Shake & Pour!

Don’t forget the accessories

One of our favourite virtual hen party must-haves is the accessories! At Jokeshop.ie they’ve got everything you need. From personalised sashes, badges, T-shirts,  bags, and even a personalised veil. Take a look at the classy rose gold range and don’t forget the must-have willy straws and blow up man. And if you’re on a budget, check out the sale section on the Jokeshop.ie website!

Order personalised champagne flutes

The team at Waxalicious Gifts & Co have been busy making personalised champagne flutes for the Corona Bride’s virtual hen party. Paired with their wax burner and wax melts with a huge variety of scents to choose from, they come in the classic personalised gift box. Another popular option is to have a pair of personalised flutes for the Corona Bride and Corona Groom so they can be used on their original wedding date to mark the occasion.

More hen party activities

There are lots of fun activities you can host online which would be perfect for a virtual hen party. You could play a round of Pictionary using the Whiteboard feature on Zoom, whip out your favourite board games (a few that work well online: Tension, Linkee, and Articulate) or host a themed quiz (we love it when a virtual quiz includes rounds like ‘Guess the gibberish’ and ‘Decode the emoji’).
