Meet Emma and Rob!
Emma and Rob eloped to New York City from their home in Dublin, Ireland. They got married in the Ladies Pavilion in Central Park during a beautiful spring day.

Emma and Rob met on Tinder and had been together for over seven years before they were married. They have three kids; Rob’s son from a previous relationship, and the son and daughter they have together. They didn’t bring the kids to New York, they took some time off to focus on each other.
Rob proposed to Emma by getting down on one knee on a very rainy August Bank Holiday weekend in Blarney Castle. Once engaged, Emma and Rob started to think about wedding venues. They viewed a few hotels in Ireland but nothing felt quite right. “So when Rob suggested New York after many failed attempts of locking something in at home I jumped at the idea!” Emma said. She had spent some time in New York in her early twenties and it always had a special place in her heart. Of course after saying “I do” there, that will be even more true now.
Emma contacted Claire at Wed in Central Park to help bring her wedding day to life. Claire has been planning weddings in Central Park since 2012 and most of her couples are from outside of the US.
Emma and Rob had kept their elopement a secret from their loved ones. The only people who knew what they planned to do were Emma’s parents since they were taking care of their kids while they were in New York.

To make the marriage legally binding, Emma and Rob had to go to New York City Hall in advance of the wedding to get their license, they went the day before their ceremony. Their ceremony was held in the Ladies Pavillion in Central Park. They had wanted to have a chilled evening with some good food and drinks after such a busy wedding day, so they went back to their hotel that evening and did just that.
‘The restaurant greeted us with champagne on arrival and the food was divine. All topped off with the picturesque views of Times Square.’
