“I made my dress myself from silk chiffon and French lace.”
The couple: John Lawlor & Avril Aylward
Length of engagement: 1 year | Wedding Date: 10th April 2017
Venue: Waterford Castle Hotel
Photographers: M&M Photography
We met… in Howl at the Moon in Dublin, introduced by a mutual friend.
Our proposal… took place on a bench by the side of a lake.
My look… I made my dress myself from silk chiffon and French lace. Deborah Jordan at Miss & Co. Waterford did my hair and my make-up was done by Laura Kay.
His suit… was hired from The Formal Suite, Duke St., Dublin.
We chose our venue because…We chose Waterford Castle due to its romantic setting on an island and the beauty of the rooms where we had our ceremony and our wedding dinner.
What our bridal party wore… The flower girl dresses were from Monsoon.
Our ceremony… we had a civil ceremony in the castle with 25 close family.
We chose our wedding coordinator because… Linda Lanigan was our coordinator for the wedding at Waterford Castle and the service was perfect, we did not have to worry about any detail and always got a swift reply to any request.
Dunmore East Crab Cake, Sweet Chilli Jam, Organic Leaves
Roast Beef Tomato & Red Pepper Soup
Strawberry & Balsamic Sorbet
Roast Sirloin of Castle Aged Beef, White Onion Puree, Wild Mushroom, Port Jus
Roast Fillet of Monkfish, Red Pepper Puree, Spaghetti of Carrot and Courgette
Trio of deserts: Dark Chocolate Torte & Salted Honeycomb, Berry Pavlova, Glazed Citrus Tart
We chose our photographer because… we were recommended M&M Photography by a friend and we loved their portfolio. They were lovely to deal with from start to finish and on the day they were discreet and professional. I would highly recommend M&M Photography.
My favourite part of the wedding day… When we found a moment on our own after the ceremony to take it all in.
