Meet Heather and Ian. Married during a rainy Bank Holiday in August at the Talbot Hotel Carlow, the dull weather didn’t dampen the spirits of their happy day that was full of love and belly laughs!

Heather and Ian met through friends and enjoyed a six year engagement.
‘We went to Galway to ring in the New Year for two nights with his parents and his mother was going through treatment at the time. He proposed on the 30th of December 2018. Ian’s mother hoped and wished she would make it to see us get married but she passed in 2019.’
The couple held their wedding during the Bank Holiday in August and chose the Talbot Hotel Carlow as it is bright and colourful, exactly how they wanted their special day to feel.
‘We planned our wedding to be happy, magical, bright and colourful. Full of family and friends, belly laughs, stories and memories and angels looking down on us on the day. It was dark and dull day on the August Bank holiday weekend, however inside the Talbot Hotel Carlow was bright and colourful.’
Heather wore a beautiful ivory wedding gown and carried a bouquet of ivory roses and baby’s breath. Her two bridesmaids wore lilac gowns and Ian cut a dash in a navy three piece suit with mid grey double breasted waistcoat.
‘Our ceremony was happy and funny with lots of special songs included. After the ceremony my school friend Niamh Curley performed and we had DJ And Sax for the evening entertainment.
We donated money to St Francis Hospice in lieu of wedding favours as it’s a charity close to our hearts as they cared for Ians mother before she sadly passed.’
Favourite Memory
For my father to be there to be able to walk me down the aisle. Seeing my mother, my family and friends as the door opened to walk down the aisle.
