Brides on a budget are in for a stylish treat this year as several high street stores (including Topshop!) turn contemporary bridal on its head with their dedicated wedding collections. Designer Ted Baker brought his premier bridal collection to Brown Thomas last month which saw a range of contemporary designs on offer for brides looking for sleek and chic gowns at a great price.
For us, it’s checking out the big department stores such as Debenhams that has come up trumps. Some of our favourite labels such as Self Portrait, Needle & Thread and Phase Eight are dipping their toe in white weddings and coming out covered in pretty embellishments and designs that could stand up against the best in bridal. Other fashion-forward houses such as Halston Heritage are featuring aisle-ready gowns – and even Mango on the high street is getting in on the action! Of course it wouldn’t be a budget style post without mentioning asos, and like the e-tailor or not, you can’t deny that they are absolutely nailing the bridal, bridesmaids, grooms and guest offerings at the moments.
