5 Ideas to Incorporate into Wedding Stationery in 2017

Is there anything better than a really good wedding stationery suite? We think not, although we must admit we are self-proclaimed stationery geeks around here.

We adore the feeling of receiving a great wedding invitation in the post; the mystery of whether the couple are giving away any hints about their Big Day through the style and design they’ve chosen, and of course the fact they make our mantels look so pretty!

Today we’ve gathered five of our favourite stationery ideas and trends for 2017 brides to ponder on. Without giving the game away these additions will make your stationery choices chic and sophisticated.

Seal it with wax

For the ultimate in luxurious finishes, nothing compares to a wax seal. If you’ve chosen to design your own family crest or simply purchased a wax seal kit with your initials, now is the time to get it out and get sealing. And don’t forget you can use it throughout your stationery suite, just like below on the menu and mass booklets.

Wrap it with ribbon

We love the delicate look of a suite finished with ribbon. Whether your choose silk, velvet or linen in your colour scheme, add it around your invitation before popping in the envelope and again add to your menu and even your bouquet for a more integrated look.

Create your own crest

The joining of two families is the perfect time to have your very own bespoke crest designed; it’ll go together with your wax sealer and can be used for years to come. Find an illustrator whose work you adore and get designing.

Go Green

With the Pantone colour of the year for 2017 being ‘Greenery’ we simply couldn’t leave this botanical colour scheme out of our stationery round-up. A green palette can be anything you want from modern to classic and elegant to rustic, sure isn’t it all around us everyday on this fair isle?

Add an illustrated map

We’ve spent a lot of time gushing over personalised illustrated maps of not only the destination of the wedding, but also as a timeline of a couple’s love story. Speak to your stationery designer about creating your own unique design to include in your invites.
