Brides question: What is airbrushing and how will it benefit my makeup look on my Big Day?

Airbrushing was designed for high definition tv. It gives a totally flawless long lasting finish. In your photos/ videos you will look so flawless. I got my first air brush in New York over ten years ago and have been airbrushing my brides and clients since then. You will love the finish it gives your skin. Everyone always comments when they are having it done that it is real cooling and calming. The airbrush is basically an air gun (similar to spray tan gun) and you apply a few drops of airbrush foundation. You can’t use regular foundation it has to be one that is for use with an airbrush . The foundation is then applied with the gun so it mixes with air which is what gives it totally flawless finish.

Brides question: How long should I expect my make up application to take on the wedding morning? And also for each bridesmaid and my mum? I’m worried with a Noon ceremony things will feel rushed!

I normally allow 1 hour for the Bride and half hour for each bridesmaid/ Mum. I also add on an extra half hour to allow for any other bits like neighbours dropping in and to give everyone the chance to get dressed so I can do any last minute touch ups or a touch of bronzer on shoulders or lipstick touch ups if you have been eating/ drinking etc.

Brides question: I have very sensitive lips, can you recommend how I can look after them before the wedding day so they aren’t flakey?

Using a lip balm with an SPF is a good way to keep your lips hydrated all year around. It prevents them getting burnt in summer but also prevents them from drying out in colder weather. However if your lips do get a bit flaky rub a bit of a facial exfoliator and remove with a damp face cloth.

Brides question: Do my bridesmaids need a trial?

I would normally only do a makeup trial on my brides so I get to see how she likes to wear her makeup so on the her wedding day and that she is completely happy with how she looks. I will always make sure that all bridesmaids/ Mums will all also look fab on the day of the wedding but not necessary to do a trial before hand.

Brides question: I am having a spray tan two days before the wedding, should I get it on my face and neck or not?

The advice I give all my brides with regards to spray tan is to have trialled in at least 6 months before the wedding. Just because your sister or friend uses a spray tan it doesn’t mean it will work on you. For instance my sister wears St.Tropez and gets the most beautiful tan but when I tried it was a weird colour on me so I personally use He Shi. Also if applying tan to the face/ neck make sure it has been designed to be used on the face, as some body tanners are too strong for the face and block the pores resulting in spots or black heads. Most tans now have a body tan range and a range for the face. I have spent many a morning patching up very dodgy fake fans so make sure you have tried and tested and found the right one for you. Although trends definitely have changed and in the last year 50% didn’t use any false tan and went for the natural look which they equally looked beautiful so it’s all about how you feel.

Brides question: Is there anything I should bring or need to know at my make up trial?

I always like to see photos of how you like to wear your makeup if you do wear makeup. If you don’t usually wear any makeup and I will use makeup to enhance your look and to make you look your best self. I focus on making your skin look flawless and yet still natural and creating soft definition to eyes and creating symmetry to eyebrows.
