It has to be said, I do fall in love with many of the weddings we share here on Mrs2Be, (okay, all of them!) but todays couple, Jenny and Alan share such a lovely story and what a gorgeous wedding. Their day at Wrights Anglers Rest was captured by Suzanne of Circus Photography. Come see why we love this pretty wedding so much…
Jenny and Alan first met in the Red Box in Dublin in 1998, it was an instant attraction and they knew each other was the one. Seven years into their relationship Alan surprised Jenny out of the blue by popping the question. Of course she did say yes but it took a further nine years, one dog, two kids and three goldfish to make it to the top of the aisle!
“After discovering the Anglers Rest hosted weddings we knew we had to be married there. Mary, Oliver and all the staff there were absolutely wonderful and made our day the dream it was,” said Jenny.
The couple planned an extremely laid back and relaxed day for their guests. With no rigid theme to stick to Jenny and Alan planned a natural, unfussy day for them, their family and guests to enjoy.
“It was love at first sight for the dress, I knew as soon as I saw it I bought it in The Suite in Dublin. My sister wore a dress from Coast and Alan purchased his suit from Monza Menswer on Dawson Street,” explained Jenny.
“My highlight from the day was when I walked up the aisle and my eldest son jumped out of his seat to hug me and tell me I looked like a princess! The entire day far exceeded and bettered anything we could have wished for. It was the perfect intimate celebration of our love for each other and our boys,” added Jenny.
For Alan his special moment came just before their delicious meal;
“The time we had together before the meal to finally catch our breath and speak alone was pretty special!”
Advice for other couples
Take it easy and don’t panic. It all works out on the day and I’f it doesn’t nobody knows!!
