Today’s destination real wedding will have you planning an escape to a tropical island and we don’t blame you! Full of glamorous touches, Pascale and Jean Marc’s dream day is a delightful Mauritian delight. And let’s just take a moment to admire this incredible gown!
After meeting in 1998 when they were 15 and 19, Pascale and Jean Marc got in touch again ten years later on social media and one morning on their way to work they bumped into each other. “Later during the day, Jean-Marc sent me a message and asked me out. From there, things happened very quickly. A year later we were married and moved to Australia. Our beautiful daughter Emily was born 3 years ago and that’s when we decided to plan our religious wedding ceremony. Finally, on the 10th August 2016, we got married in the ever-so beautiful Mauritius surrounded by our dearest family and friends,” explained Pascale.
As this was their big dream wedding, Pascale knew exactly what sort of day she wanted them to host – glamorous and filled with lace and peonies. “Unfortunately, peonies are not available in Mauritius, but thankfully, the beautiful Lexia who did our wedding cake and decorated the reception venue made sure we had them there on the day. She personally ordered them from Holland! We wanted the style to be very classy and with a colour palette of blush, ivory and gold,” added Pascale.
Pascale wore a handmade Leah Da Gloria wedding gown that was truly breathtaking in every way!
“I wanted my wedding dress to be the most beautiful dress I’ll ever wear. After several trips to bridal shops in Melbourne and still no luck in finding what I really wanted for my wedding, I started looking online for a bridal designer to create a custom dress. I came across Leah Da Gloria’s designs and decided to book an appointment with her. A few weeks later I was flying to Sydney to meet Leah! She showed me designs that she had made before and all of the delicate laces available. I remember leaving there and saying to myself, “She has to be the one creating my wedding gown.” Her designs were so modern and magical. From there, I took regular trips to Sydney for fittings and every single time I was left amazed at what she had done since our last meeting. She was so easy to work and she truly created my perfect dress,” said Pascale.
“We had a ball planning our dream wedding and on the day itself, everything was just how we wanted it to be. We can look back and say that it was the perfect day. My favourite moment from the day would have to be our first dance! We both took dancing lessons for about three months and had someone choreograph our first dance – it was the tango version of Sway, sung by Michael Bublè,” concluded Pascale.
