Summer Sun at Dromquinna Manor By Mrs RedHead Photography

Eilis & Eoin

With all the storms we’ve been having this winter, a beautiful summer’s day seems like a distant memory. July 17th last year was one of those days, and the sun came out in all its glory for Éilis and Eoin’s wedding in Kenmare, Co. Kerry. Celebrating with family and friends in the stunning Dromquinna Manor in Kenmare they chose Olga from Mrs Redhead Photography based in Co. Clare to capture it all.

Éilis and Eoin’s story began in 2008. They were both in college in Limerick and first met in October ’08 on a night out. In 2012 Éilis moved to Limerick and they moved in together. Following a romantic proposal in the gardens of a beautiful villa in Rome, they set about planning their wedding while undertaking renovations on their new home.

We love how the lovebirds theme carried through from their stationery to Éilis’ dressing gown to personalised wedding water!

The couple decided to have a laid back and fun approach with no defined theme.

We tried to keep everything as bright and breezy as possible. I’m not organised enough to stick to a theme but everything came together surprisingly well.

Éilis found her wedding dress in Lilac Rose, Limerick. It really was a spur of the moment shopping trip as her friend Aoife was visiting for the day and she suggested they look at some dresses.

Donna, the owner kindly slotted me in for a last minute appointment when I phoned her. I wasn’t expecting to come across anything I liked that day but that’s how it goes!!

Éilis’ something borrowed and something blue came from Eoin’s mum.

She surprised me the day before the wedding lending me her gold necklace with a blue opal stone – it was perfect with the dress and was a very special gesture.brides and bridesmaids shoes

As her colour scheme was pastels and light colours, her bridesmaids wore beautiful blush pink boat neck dresses which she got for a steal in the Ted Baker outlet in Kildare. They looked gorgeous – we love the simplicity and elegance. A few slight alterations, and they were perfect. And their shoes from ASOS tied in so well – velvet baby blue and sparkly blush pink.

We love seeing the groom’s camp on wedding morning, and as there were two photographers on hand to capture the day, we get a glimpse of Eoin’s preparations too. son wedding cardEoinEoin

Eoin looked very dapper in his Hugo Boss three piece suit, and personalised cufflinks, and his grooms men certainly looked the part in Tommy Hilfiger.

What a stunning location Dromquinna Manor is for a wedding. Not only was the manor house a beautiful venue for Éilis and Eoin’s reception, but the estate also offers an amazing backdrop for wedding photos in the form of Kenmare Bay.

Reflecting on the day, we asked them both what was highlight of the day.

Éilis: I honestly loved every second of the day, I suppose taking our photos down by the water while sipping champagne was one of the highlights. Listening to Eoin make his speech was very special too! All the nice things he said I thought he was talking about someone else!!

Eoin: Greeting family and friends on the way into the church and soaking up the atmosphere. Without doubt seeing my wife Éilis walking into the church and then enjoying a gin and tonic with her alone in Dromquinna while our guests took their seats was a fantastic and emotional experience.
