Natalie and Conor’s super gorgeous Knightsbrook wedding was textbook winter wedding chic. Using beautiful baby’s breath dotted through their decor (including gorgeous pew ends on the stairs of Natalie’s house!) and featuring some magical fairy lights throughout their reception, the couple truly embraced the season when it came to their Big Day. With beautiful photography from the talented Livia Figueiredo, this is one real wedding post that is sure to get you in the festive wedding mood!
Natalie and Conor first met after attending Conor’s friend’s gig (he later became Conor’s best man!) Conor called into her the following day to bring her out to Howth on a date and the couple never looked back!
Conor popped the question in the most romantic, and funny, of ways. He left work early and laid rose petals to surprise her. Only Conor underestimated the amount of petals needed and his ‘Will you marry me?’ had to be changed to a more succinct ‘Will You?’ with a little heart.
He placed the engagement ring inside a shell that they had both picked up on the beach together a few months before and when Natalie arrived into the room he hid behind the door to surprise her!
We HEART Natalie’s stunning gown, which was purchased from the Bridal Outlet in Baldoyle.
“I tried on six dresses and it was the last dress that I loved,” said the bride. “It was a champagne colour and the detail on the dress was beautiful. The girls in the shop were excellent to deal with and I loved each minute of it.”
Natalie picked up her bridesmaid dresses in Wedding World in Fairview. She went for blush pink to suit all the girls. “Most importantly they felt comfortable wearing the dresses and looked beautiful,” she said. The adorable flower girls wore Leigh Tucker dresses bought in Dunnes and their shoes – chosen by Conor’s sister – were from Monsoon.
The couple didn’t start out with any real theme or scheme and let the day flow as it should – accompanied by lots of food. “We just wanted people to feel relaxed and have a good time,” said Conor, “and make sure everyone was well fed. Thanks in part to Nadine (Natalie’s sister and chief bridesmaid) for the boxes of Tayto and bread for crisp sambos later in the evening!”
So, how did you guys keep to the budget?
“That was all Natalie” says Conor. “We had a budget and stuck fairly close to it. Well, to the best of my knowledge anyway. We entered everything into a planner and spreadsheet so paid off a few bits as we could and kept on track that way. She’s the financial expert out of the pair of us.”
And did everything go to plan?
“Everything went to plan as far as we seen. We were too busy running between half conversations. The whole day was a funny incident mixed with a massive high maybe that was the relief of Natalie turning up to the church fairly on time. One highlight was my then five year old niece Sarah giving a speech after the meal. The hotel was great in helping out and making sure every last detail was attended to.”
The highlight of the day, the couple say, was hearing each other say ‘I do’ and seeing their guests having a great time. “The Jameson & Ginger was spot on too,” added Conor.
Any advice for other couples?
“Relax, drink a few Jameson’s and glasses of Prosecco and enjoy your day! Savour every moment.”
