Our real Irish wedding today features a Vera Wang gown, the sweetest first look and a super glam reception at Cliff Townhouse in Dublin city centre – it’s just completely dreamy in our eyes! Thanks to Niamh Smith from The Photography Hub for sharing it with us.
Japan born, Kanae, married Dubliner Gareth during the summer. The couple had travelled from their home in Tokyo to share the intimate day with their closest friends and family. With a beautiful grown up elegance, the day was intimate and carefree with a stylish reception overlooking St. Stephen’s Green.
Breaking with Irish tradition, Kanae and Gareth had an emotional first look in Iveagh Gardens – we love this and really would encourage couples to do this!
Kanae chose a classic strapless Vera Wang gown for the ceremony and later changed into a modern halter neck gown which was perfect for dancing! Her maids wore soft green J Crew dresses in varying styles which worked perfectly with the pink and soft green colour scheme.
Following their ceremony in Newman University Church, it was a short stroll through St. Stephen’s Green to their reception at Cliff Townhouse for the reception.
Kanae’s Highlight
The reception dinner was my highlight of the day. Nice speeches and a really nice atmosphere in a stunning venue.
Kanae’s Wedding Planning Advice
City weddings are good for convenience and good fun too. Exchanges with members of the public can add some unexpected flavour to the day as well as cars beeping horns and motorbikes revving engines.
