Six Sizzling Wedding Dress Trends for 2017

Fashion & Jewellery

Attention Missies!

If the New Year signals the beginning of your wedding dress hunt, make sure you’re armed with the latest bridal gown knowledge, so you’ll know what you’re going to find out there – and hopefully make your shopping experience that little bit easier.

Today we’ve gone out on a limb to share six of our favourite wedding dress trends for 2017, and let us just say, bridal is definitely very grown-up and sophisticated this year.

Oh, we’re in for a treat – and so are you!

TREND ONE: Off The Shoulder

It would have be almost impossible for you not to notice the off the shoulder tops and dresses all across the high street in 2016, and 2017 is set to see this romantic and gorgeously girly look on bridal gowns. There’s something beautifully glamorous about baring your shoulders on your Big Day. This is one trend we are really looking forward to seeing very soon.

TREND TWO: Laidback Lace

Lace is not exactly a new thing to bridal, but for 2017 lace will continue to take on a modern look, with hints of boho and laid-back luxury taking centre stage. Forget overly prim and proper, and think relaxed use of this stunning fabric.

TREND THREE: Colour

From subtle shades of gold and silver to in-your-face greens and blues, for those brave enough, colour is everywhere for brides of 2017. This trend is not for the shrinking violets, but if you’ve got the gusto to carry it off, we say give it a go.

TREND FOUR: Plunging Necklines

Another trend that certainly won’t appeal to everyone is the plunging neckline – and it’s is here to stay. Done properly this look can be completely elegant and on the right side of sexy. Look to designers such as Berta Bridal and Gemy Maalouf for inspiration.

TREND FIVE: Separates

One of our very favourite trends for next year is separates. Encapsulating modern bridal looks – quite often bohemian styling and ultra femininity – this look is going to be huge. Wearing separates is the perfect solution for brides who likes to mix and match and come up with their own signature look. We love the designs of Laure de Sagazan, Rime Arodaky and Halfpenny London for their take on modern separates.

TREND SIX: 3D Florals

For a beautiful botanical bridal look head for 3D floral embellishments. The ultimate in prettiness, we adore everything about this look! The latest Jenny Packham collection is a great starting point for this trend.
