Spring is here and we’re looking at ideas for seasonal wedding flowers and bouquets. Lynette from Little Daisy Flowers talks us through some options for spring and summer bridal bouquets.
Spring
Springtime is here and with it brings and array of bursting colours and flowers to choose. From tulips, anemones and sweat pea to name a few. One of my favourite spring flowers are ranunculus. A beautiful mix of delicate flowers opening out with funky lime green center.
Monochrome – Keep it Simple!
Monochrome bouquets are very stylish, it has been said that sometimes less is more. Blending different flowers in the same colour adds texture to your bouquet, perfect for creating a dramatic look.
Summer
Summertime always evokes dreamy romantic memories for me but then maybe it’s because it was the season I was married in. There is so much to choose from during the summer months. Mixed bouquets are very popular. You can choose vibrant bouquets or opt for a more romantic softer look with roses and lisianthus.
Vintage Inspired
Many of us have different opinions on vintage themed weddings. Some say it’s on the way out and some say it will be here forever !
A big trend with my brides this year is Old Hollywood Glamour. Choosing classic flowers such as rose, peonies and the elegant calla lily. Add a bit of fun with feathers, diamonds and pearls to add a touch of glam to your bouquet. Finish with vintage broaches or incorporate some vintage lace for a touch of elegance.
Mix and Match With a Clash
Another trend running through 2012 is clashing colours. Mix and match yellows and blues, reds with pinks. Check out some mixes yourself choose opposite colours on a colour wheel and see what works for you. Be creative, be inspired !
