With 2018 almost over (scary, right?!) we’re now beginning to look ahead to what will be hot in bridal next year. We enjoyed watching the catwalk shows from the recent New York Bridal Fashion Week and today we’ve jam-packed our favourite trends from the best of bridal designers in to this trend report, so what are you waiting for – read on!
The good news is there is a dress for everyone whether you consider yourself contemporary, classic, boho or glam. Some of the classic wedding dress styles still remain including sublime off the shoulder numbers and luscious long sleeve beauties, but if you’re not afraid to step up to the fashion mark here’s six trends you’ll be wanting to know about!
The Trend: Simple & Stylish (Also known as the Meghan Markle effect!)
As seen at: Cushnie, Lela Rose, Amsale, Kaviar Gauche
As expected this years (incredibly stunning) Royal wedding has been reflected in bridal fashion trends with incredibly cut simple gowns really making their mark on the industry. Think boatneck (such a flattering cut on most) with long, elegant sleeves and let your smile do the talking as you breeze up the aisle.
Our Favourite Looks
The Trend: Capelets
As seen at: Savannah Miller, Cushnie, Monique Lhuillier
We loved the modern look of a bridal capelet. Whether long or short, this pretty accessory will whisk you through your wedding day from start to finish.
Our Favourite Looks
The Trend: Crop tops and two pieces
As seen at: Hayley Paige
The two pieces are back and we are delighted! Designers have created sleek looks with midriff bearing crop tops, and whilst not a trend everyone will be comfortable with, it really does make for a pretty, carefree look.
Our Favourite Looks:
The Trend: Halterneck (Again, also know as the Meghan Markle effect!)
As seen at: Amsale, Savannah Miller, Theia
If simple and sleek was the biggest trend for 2019, Meghan’s evening look was just as adored – and why not this style is stunning!
Our Favourite Looks
The Trend: Jumpsuits
As seen at: BHLDN
Brides will continue to break the mould with flattering jumpsuits that are perfect for a bride who knows her style.
Our Favourite Looks
The Trend: Metallic
As seen at: Reem Acra
As well as coloured gowns (lots of blue), metallics where huge. Gold, silver, pewter and rose all adorned the catwalk and my, don’t they just look stunning and give off a warm and elegance like no other.
