Hello Missies!
If you’re tired already of the dark and gloomy days, today we have a fairytale Spring wedding from Sydney to share with you, that’s sure to brighten your day!
Sarah and Jason met when their best friends were dating each other. After getting engaged at home surrounded by rose petals and fairy lights the couple began planning a fairytale wedding with a touch of Tuscan inspiration. “We wanted the day to be beautiful, classy and meaningful with sandstone buildings and a touch of Tuscany,” explained Sarah.
With the look and feel of their day chosen Sarah visited a wedding exhibition to seek out local suppliers and ended up finding her dream wedding dress!
“We went to a wedding expo the day after our engagement party. We were exhausted after all the festivities and the prep leading up to it, but decided to go along anyway. While we were there, someone handed me a flyer with a wedding dress on it as I was passing by in my state of delirium. I wasn’t the kind of girl that had been planning my wedding since I was 12, so I didn’t have a folder filled with ideas – and the dress was no exception! But when I saw this dress, I fell in love instantly.
Time went by and I ended up trying on a bunch of dresses, but none made my heart melt like the Hayley Paige I’d seen on the flyer. I knew it had to be a sign that I couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I found out where I could try the dress on and never looked back. To make it my own, I used beautifully beaded appliqués to make straps for my dress…using what was left to make a matching hair piece,” Sarah explained.
Sarah added some sweet homemade touches to her day by designing all the wedding flowers herself, along with help from her very talented mum.
“Walking out of the church as a married couple was my favourite moment from the day,” said Sarah.
Sarah’s Advice
It’s hard, but try not to let others influence your ‘big day’. Input from friends and family can be great, but if possible, talk to your partner first and get yourselves on the same page…then bring in the cavalry!
