Summer is by far the most popular season for weddings, for many reasons including the fabulous variety of in-season flowers. Beautiful summer blooms are abundant, with everything from frilly garden roses to elegant hydrangeas, you’ll definitely not be stuck for choice!

Rose and Garden Rose
The classic rose will always be a favourite for their romantic vibe. During the summer months incredible garden roses are well loved because of their fluffy petals and beautiful scent. Best month: June
Freesia
If adding scent to your bouquet is a priority, freesia will give you just that as well as a simple soft appearance. Best months: June to September
Orchid
White orchids are a classic choice for bride who love a touch of glamour. Their unusual shape and form works well in single variety bouquets as well as combined with other summer greats such as garden roses. Best months: April to September
Dahlia
One of my personal favourite flowers, dahlias are available in a huge range of colours from dreamy pinky creams to bright pink. For statement blooms look out for the famous Cafe au Lait variety. Best months: June to October
Cornflower
Many brides love to add a touch of blue to their day and the humble cornflower is a popular choice during summer. This wildflower will add a whimsy touch to your arrangements. Best months: June to September
Delphinium
Stunningly pretty and sure to make a statement, delphiniums are a dreamy flower choice. These long stems with pretty flower petals are a great choice to make an impact whilst keeping the overall look soft and romantic. Best months: June to September
Hydrangea
If you love large flowers, hydrangea are big and blousy and make a statement. Available in a gorgeous range of colours from white to deep ruby red, pink, purple and blue. Best months: May to September
Cosmo
Ideal for a soft and natural summer wedding, cosmos have a similarity to large headed daisies but with an extra fluttery softness. They work beautiful within mixed bouquets and equally as well used en masse on their own. Best months: July to October
Zinnia
Zinnia’s are sometimes confused with dahlias as they are similar in style, they are available in a host of bright and bold shades of pink, orange and red. Best months: July to October
