One area of wedding planning that you will need to consider carefully is the wedding stationery. Today we’re talking on the day stationery, what you will need, extras you may not have considered and some beautiful examples of those designs.
Stationery you’ll need on the day falls into to categories; guest guidance and decor, like we said, not all are required however if you choose to have them you will be rewarded with a cohesive look from the beginning of the day until the very last dance.
Welcome sign: Many couples choose a generic sign with their names and date in keeping with the overall look of the day. Most are placed on an easel at the ceremony entrance with many couples choosing to add a floral touch for a streamlined look.
Mass booklet/Order of service: Your ceremony Mass booklet or Order of Service will guide your guests (and wedding party!) through the ceremony and include details of the extended wedding party and usually a message of thanks from the couple.
Order of the day sign: Welcome your guests to the reception with a rundown of what will be happening. Don’t forget to include call to dinner time, cutting of the cake time, dancing time etc!
Table plan: With the main formalities of the day over guide your guests to their seats with a beautiful table plan designed around the theme or colour scheme of your day.
Table numbers or names: This is where you can get creative if you want to. From simple table numbers to tables named after your pets, places you’ve visited or throwback photos of you both as kids, have fun with this.
Place cards: Place cards will not only ensure your guests are in their correct seats but make a lovely keepsake of the day.
Menus: Many venues will offer in-house printing of your menu for the day, or if you want to keep the stationery cohesive you may choose to have them printed in the same design as your stationery suite.
Guestbook sign/instructions: Guestbooks are back in fashion - you heard it here first. We adore them as a personal keepsake to look back on in years to come. If you’d like your guests to complete a task such as leaving a message in the book or taking an instant photo use simple signage to direct them.
Decorative venue signage: From dance floor signs to gift table, caricature station, photo booth or dessert table, think about everything you have at your reception and whether you need a sign to direct guests.
Favour tags: Favour tags add a lovely finishing touch to the favours you are giving. Of course they are optional but are sweet and thoughtful way to thank your guests for coming and celebrating your day.
