Although most wedding dresses come in a wide range of sizes, sometimes it can be difficult to picture how some will work on curvier figures. And we’ve said it before, it’s difficult even for us to find inspiration for curvy brides as designers just don’t seem to feel the need to feature different shapes and sizes in their lookbooks. Happily however, there are some fabulous designers who have either added a dedicated plus size collection to their repetoire, or are specifically and wholly designing with plus size brides in mind.
Mori Lee with Julietta, Watters with WTOO Curve, Allure Bridal with Women, Roz la Kelin’s Glamour Plus and the exquisite Callista Bride are some of our absolute favourite collections for brides with curves. These collections mix traditional silhouettes with fashion-forward features and embellishments and have something for every personality. Lately we’ve been impressed with some of the more indie style labels designing for stylish and contemporary brides. Online store Igigi has some fab stuff for relaxed, boho brides while Kiyonna designs for city-style brides with pretty tea length dresses and gorgeous lace gúnas.
