We met… We were set up on a ‘blind’ date and met in Bruxelles rock bar, Harry Street, Dublin City in Feb 2004.
Our proposal… was by the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, December 4th 2015.
My look… my dress was from Barnardos Bridal, Dun Laoghaire. The alterations, black lace and tulle was added by a very talented lady, Joan Mulligan. My hair and make-up was by Newcastle Hair and Beauty.
His suit… was from Hugo Boss.
We chose our photographer because… we immediately liked QubArtStudios style from previous shoots and Jakub was very enthusiastic about our wedding, which made our decision very easy.
Our wedding theme/colours… Black, Red, Silver and a little bit of Christmas!!
We chose our venue because… the function room at The Lucan Spa Hotel blew us away as soon as we walked in and then when we spoke to the amazing wedding coordinator Claire Casey, we knew they would do the best job for us. It was the perfect fit for what we wanted.
Our honeymoon… We went back to our favourite city, Berlin, for a relaxing break and to fill up on Christmas market food and beer.
Our menu… We had a beautiful meal, to start a Spicy Chicken Salad served with a Rocket Salad and a Sweet Chilli Dressing, Vegetable Soup, Roast Crown of Turkey & Honey Baked Ham with Sage & Onion Stuffing & Vegetables, finishing off with a Warm Apple Pie with Vanilla Custard.
My favourite part of the wedding day… Walking up the aisle with my proud Dad, as he gripped my hand tight and seeing Al’s face as we walked towards him.
My piece of advice for other brides… I would pass on the same advice as I was given; when the day finally arrives, don’t stress, anything unforeseen can be sorted!! Take a moment together and look around at your wedding and your guests enjoying themselves.
