Wedding venue: Carton House, Maynooth, Co. Kildare
Photographer: Michelle Prunty Photography
We met… when we were in school together at the age of 14, but only got together properly at the age of 27… long story, but worth the wait!
My hair and make-up… Hair by the fabulous Michelle and make-up by Ailbhe Lynch.
Our proposal… was really fabulous and special. It happened while we were on holidays in Tenerife and he popped the question, we were staying in the fabulous OBAMA hotel which was such a treat anyway and then he topped it off by sending me to the spa for some treatments and then when I came back, he was kneeling in a bed of roses, playing our fave song… at first I thought I was in the wrong room, but I just cried and was so happy, it was just amazing and I’ll never forget it… he was so romantic!
My dress… was from The White Room in Mullingar – the fab collection from Paloma Blanca.
His suit… was Kenneth Cole at House of Fraser.
Our ceremony… we got married in the church in Kilcock.
We chose our photographer because… we heard Michelle Prunty Photography was amazing, had seen her work and once we met her we knew she knew what we wanted – more natural and fun pictures. We were so lucky – Michelle is amazing and everyone complimented her work, she will go to all lengths to take a fab pic!!
What our bridal party wore… Eliza & Ethan dresses in Coral from The White Room, and the guys’ suits were from Bests menswear.
Our honeymoon… we headed to Dubai for a week, and stayed in the Anatara Resort & Spa on the Psalm and this was just the most amazing, luxurious resort I have ever been to. It was so relaxing, and so private but yet had loads of atmosphere… I have to go back every few years. Then we came back to Ireland and stayed in the stunning Castle Leslie Estate which is just incredible!
We chose our venue because… how lucky are we to have such a stunning venue as Carton House on our doorstep with gorgeous grounds too to invite and treat our guests! We were blessed with Carton House as it is local for all our family and friends, so the day was more like a party and there was less stress for travelling. The staff too are just amazing and the treatment we got was just fantastic.
Our wedding theme/colours… We went for a simple look, as we are not too much into co-ordinating colours! But the room was fresh and white and stunning chandeliers and candles lit the room! The cake we had was really amazing and was a fab centrepiece for the room. It was made by the gorgeous Christine Dunworth… also we had an amazing Candy Buffet in the reception which was done as a surprise for us by Seanie’s gorgeous Aunt which was so lovely.
Our menu… it was just so great doing our tasting as we ordered two dishes we knew would be an option, and then tried one we thought was different. OMG they were all amazing so we went with a cod and chorizo… I have to say the choice is so fantastic here and all dishes were amazing.
My favourite part of the wedding day… seeing everyone together and them being so happy for us…
My piece of advice for other brides… just be relaxed and take time out together for just the two of you… as you don’t get a min!
