Real Wedding Inspo: Halloween Edition

Inspiration

Halloween weddings are no longer just for the brave or the gothic – they’ve become a playful, stylish way to celebrate love with a seasonal twist. From flickering candlelit dinners to carved pumpkins, rich autumnal tones, and dramatic gothic colour schemes, real Irish couples are embracing the spooky season in ways that feel both romantic and unforgettable. Whether you’re drawn to subtle hints of orange and black or full-on haunted-house glamour, there’s plenty of inspiration to make your Halloween wedding as enchanting as it is eerie.

A Black Gothic Wedding With a ‘Til Death’ Theme

“Our wedding theme as you can imagine was quite unconventional. After almost 10 years of shooting weddings together we knew exactly what we didn’t want to be a part of the day. Trying to find vendors or suppliers to match our theme was pretty tricky. We loved the toned down gothic style and decided that “‘Til death” would be a fitting theme, black being the main colour. We both wanted the black tie feel without the formality. Our styles aren’t very conventional so we just chose things we liked rather than people pleasing.”

A Halloween Wedding With Autumnal Colours

“We both love Nightmare Before Christmas so we brought that into the wedding. We went with the proper Autumn colours so the reds, orange, yellows.”

A Real Halloween Wedding: Autumn Colours, Spooky Decor And Pumpkins

Ballycotton, Shanagarry and Garryvoe are special places to us so the Garryvoe Hotel was the ideal venue. We fell in love with it the moment we viewed it and met with the wedding co-ordinator at the time, Ben. The staff were amazing, Aidan decorated the whole place using the decorations I provided him, plenty of pumpkins and skulls for the chic Halloween vibe we were going for. The food was top notch and the service amazing. And because of the seaside location we could all blow away the cobwebs the next day with a sea swim and sauna which loads of our guests gladly joined us for!”
