“My favourite part of the day was the car journey back to Rathsallagh after the church – sipping champagne and chatting about our mornings.”
The couple: Suzanne & Mark Quinn
Length of engagement: 15 months | Wedding date: 15th March 2014
Wedding location: Rathsallagh House, Wicklow
Photographer: Circus Photography
We met… In college.
Our proposal… We had been together for 10 years so it wasn’t a surprise we got engaged but the timing was a complete surprise. He proposed in the park beside our house a couple of days after Christmas, it was such a lovely time as everyone was home for Christmas so they were able to celebrate with us.
My dress… My dress was ‘Lady” by Suzanne Neville. I bought it in Sharon Hoey in Dublin.
Our ceremony… We had a church ceremony in Crookstown church, Athy.
My favourite part of the wedding day… The car journey back to Rathsallagh after the church sipping champagne and chatting about our mornings.
We chose our photographer because… Suzanne from Circus Photography had a really natural style that suited our wedding.
We chose our venue because… They were so accommodating and it felt like a home from home. We had the venue to ourselves so we could enjoy the whole weekend with our friends and family.
Our menu… Delicious soup to start, Salmon, Steak or Hake for mains and then a yummy crème brulee.
My piece of advice for other brides… Do everything you can the weekend before, don’t leave anything last minute as you want to enjoy the run and particularly the morning of the wedding getting ready with your girls!
