Meet Trish and Tony. Surrounded by their children and closest family and friends, the couple we married during the summer at the Ardilaun Hotel, Galway. Whilst it rained all day, the weather didn’t dampen the celebrations!
Couple: Trish and Tony
Engagement length: 2 years
Wedding date: 2025-07-04
Wedding venue: Ardilaun Hotel, Galway

Trish and Tony met during a night out with mutual friends, she took his seat at the bar and the rest is history!
‘We got engaged on the Eiffle Tower in front of our kids. Tony’s kids and mine all went on a trip to Disneyland and Tony popped the question at the top of the Eiffle Tower. It was so nice to have all the kids involved.’

Trish chose a subtle sage green and ivory colour sheme for their summer wedding. With a rustic look to the day she handmade the wedding flowers and kept decor simple throughout the hotel.

‘My dress was ivory with diamonds and pearls of course, I didn’t wear a veil as my headpiece was enough with the dress. Tony’s suit was light grey with white stripe. His tie had a photo of his precious dad Noel on it with was a lovely, personal touch.’
The couples kids formed the bridal party with the bridesmaids wearing sage green silk dresses in different styles and the Maid of Honour in cream.

‘Our ceremony was very emotional and it was hard to hold back the tears at times. We had Simple The Best as my entrance song , sung by Poppy Farrell who has an amazing voice. We wrote our own vows which Tony forgot but it made everyone laugh. We had readings by Tony’s daughters and my nieces and we also had a sand ceremony were Tony’s kids and my kids including our two grandsons all poured sand into a glass jar representing all of us.’

The couple fell in love with the Ardilaun Hotel in Galway for hosting their day. It was a combination of the beautiful gardens and amazing staff that sealed the deal.

‘Our photographer Deirdre was absolutely amazing , especially dealing with the crazy gang as my bridal party! She was constantly taking pics and making sure everyone got a snap. My wedding photos tell a story and we get emotional looking back on them, she captured every detail perfectly.’

Guests were well entertained with a magician and 360 Photo Booth, Sweet Freedom band and DJ Music Matters to round off the night.

Favourite memory:
Seeing all the girls walk in ahead of me and my eldest daughter walked me up the aisle, seeing Tony stand with his son and all the kids together, with our grandsons, that’s was the start of the tears for both of us.

Advice for other couples:
Don’t stress, it’s your day no-one else’s. Take time together on the day, ask loads of questions to your vendors and hotel. Don’t forget to have breakfast on the morning, take time to yourself before hair and make up and enjoy every minute of it!
