We met… We met in work, after many work nights out we became friends. Soon after John asked me out on a date and we hit it off straight away. Romanced blossomed and the rest is history!

Our proposal… John proposed on Christmas Eve 2015, We arranged to meet up in town after work to soak up the festive atmosphere. Little did I know he had a diamond ring and a bottle of Moët in his backpack!  He popped the question whilst we were strolling around St Stephens Green Dublin over a Butlers Coffee.

Our wedding theme/colours… I don’t think we really had a theme, we wanted to keep it simple! A simple classic fun-filled affair.

My dress… My dress was a premier bespoke Suzanne Neville gown from Kadee Bride Athlone. The girls were so fantastic to deal with it. A very cool & chic bridal boutique which I most definitely recommend a visit.

My hair and make up… I cannot speak highly enough of these two ladies and friends. My hair was by the extremely talented Orla Kinsella, Black Angel, Leixlip. My make up was by the fabulous Leila J Make up. They both knew exactly what I wanted and delivered that on the day in a big way.

His suit… John’s suit was a classic black DKNY tuxedo from Savoy Taylors Guild in Kildare Village. The groomsmen were suited and booted from Moss Brothers in Liffey Valley SC.

What our bridal party wore… I don’t know where to start with this one The girls dresses were custom made and alterations were by the amazing ladies in Stitchin time Leixlip. Phyllis and Trish have the patience of saints!

Our ceremony… It was in St John’s church in Killenard and the church was decorated by Mary & her team in Finesse Weddings who are true professionals and so great to deal with. Our ceremony music was by Alison Sweeney Music, she was amazing. So many people commented on the music afterwards.

We chose our videographer because… I had initially seen some of Ronan’s videos online which included some of friends and family weddings and I was really impressed. We knew we made the right decision when we were at our friends wedding and had seen him in action. He is extremely professional and discreet and puts you at ease straight away. He worked so well with our photographer Johannes Photography who we booked on the back of the two of them working so well together at our friends wedding.

We chose our venue because we wanted to have a venue that was in a close proximity for all our guests.  We loved the Heritage, as soon as we stepped foot in the doors we both got that Wow factor. What really sold us was the level of professionalism of all the team in the Heritage. We had the pleasure of dealing with David Hannify on the build up to the wedding. He made it all so seamless and simple.

My favourite part of the wedding day… I think both of us would agree that the ceremony was our favourite part of the day. It had so much meaning to us both and it is really what the day is about.

My piece of advice for other couples… Just to enjoy it all, it really is such a special time. The build up is so much fun. There are so many fantastic times together and with your family & friends.

Also whatever will be will be, it started to rain just as I left for the church.  The groomsmen waited outside the church with umbrellas for the bridesmaids and myself to get in….. a moment of chivalry! Who would have known that this rain and moment was one of my fondest memories of the day!
