Simple Tips For Saving For Your Wedding

Planning & Advice
saving tips

Saving money, not the most exciting of wedding planning tasks but a hugely important one! If you are paying for all of your day, or at least most of it, saving is the best option. Today we’ve got simple tips to help you reach your target and throw that wedding day you’ve always dreamt of!

1. Know your budget and aim to stick to it. There’s no point saving if you don’t know what your target figure is. And please, always, always be realistic!

2. Set realistic savings goals over a specific time period. Chat with your other half and decide a figure that you both realistically can afford to save.

3. Have a dedicated current or savings account that your money is transferred to each week or month, depending on when you get paid.

4. Prioritise your wedding needs – you don’t need everything you see on Pinterest! There’s no shame in wanting a knock-out wedding dress (a must if you ask us!), and maybe saving on other items that aren’t as important to you. Work out what means the most to you and assign your budget accordingly.

5. Get wedding insurance, especially during these crazy times. While it’s an outlay a the beginning, it’s sensible move to make.

6. Make the most of whats included in your venue package. If napkins and table numbers are included, go with them. You can always add simple details to them to incorporate your style.

7. Shop around – for everything. Most couples have no idea how much items cost for your wedding and are surprised when they discover! Try pricing things with three suppliers to help keep your budget in check.

8. Keep an eye out for wedding deals such as sample sales and open days.

9. Don’t step out of normal life to save for your day. Although it may seem like a momentouss task, saving for your day shouldn’t feel like a huge chore, that will take the fun out of it! A cheeky dinner out once in a while won’t hinder your budget!
