Whether the boutique offer an in-house alterations service, or you have to go elsewhere, there are some things you should keep in mind. Read on to discover the six questions you should ask at your dress fitting to ensure your dress is perfect on your wedding day… 

1. How long will alterations take? 

Depending on your style and fit of the dress you have chosen, will determine how long alterations will take. It’s a good idea to ask how long your alterations will take, which is why it’s essential to go for your first dress fitting as early as possible. It’s always better to have more time than less! 

2. How many fittings should you have? 

It’s essential to stay up-to-date with your fittings and schedule them into your diary. You should also enquire if you need to make any extra fitting appointments, especially if there are any intricate alterations to make. 

3. How much will alterations cost? 

To ensure you aren’t surprised with any unexpected costs, ask upfront how much they will cost. you may be given a definite price, whilst others will give you an approximate. 

4. Will you dress be steamed and ready to wear when you collect it?
