Dramatic detailing and the most sensational silhouettes, Sottero & Midgley’s 2014 collection is all about rich, luxurious, form-fitting gowns inspired by the indulgent glamour of yesteryear. The 2014 range takes its cue from the drama and artistry of the Art Deco era, exploring the opulent fashion of the time with pearl and jewel motifs, waist cinching belts, incredibly decadent hand-beaded embroidery and one of the most spectacular Swarovski crystal bodices we’ve seen this year.
Sottero & Midgley is renowned for slenderising silhouettes, resulting from a meticulous attention to both design and fitting details. Flattering sweetheart necklines make for modest curves, while strong yet delicately embellished straps provide support for the fuller busted bride. Each gown makes the most of the female figure by using clever couture techniques such as ruching on bodices, waterfall draping and strategically placed embellishments.
These gowns are without a doubt glamorous, yet there is an understated elegance to each one.

We love that the design house has indulged in a more playful edge this season too, with gowns such as Diana being awarded a colourful accent with a beautiful blush belt, Macie showcasing the fun and flirty nature of a graduated full tulle skirt, and Wynter, whose exquisitely detailed Swarovski crystal floral bodice is only outshone by its dramatic and decadent gathered ruffle skirt!
