If you’re one of the many people who consider Halloween their favourite holiday, you might have considered holding your wedding on All Hallow’s Eve? Even if the idea of a full wedding day dress up isn’t for you, there are plenty of tasteful ways to incorporate the spirit of the festival into your day! The trick with a Halloween wedding is to avoid the clichés – remember your wedding isn’t a children’s party and guests might not enjoy the thought of sitting next to a skeleton and entrées of fake worms. Try to think outside the box and keep the ghoulishness to a minimum. That’s not to say you can’t have fun with a Halloween wedding theme though! After all, it’s a great excuse to get up to some antics!
Have fun with your outfit, add in some black lace on shoes or opt for a black birdcage veil – and go for glittery nails and eye make up to really sparkle! Groomsmen can get in on the fun with some skull and crossbone cufflinks or socks or maybe even try out a vintage looking top hat and cane for a ghostly feel. Sparklers are a must for a Halloween wedding; use them in your ceremony or for a magical outdoor wedding photo with all your guests. Guests can be welcomed to their seat with mini pumpkin name holders, and could even sign a pretty pumpkin guestbook! Use your favourite scary movies as table names and serve up a dessert table with some old Halloween staples like chocolate toffee apples or some ghost-headed cake pops! We’ve put together a gothic wedding moodboard below to help you envision a chic and stylish halloween wedding or even a fun pre-wedding dinner, and if you need even more inspiration, check out these gorgeous gothic halloween wedding ideas.
