Meet Laura and Shaun, after 18 years together and two beautiful boys, todays couple kept their wedding very them with an intimate City Hall wedding and after party at The Mayson Hotel.

Laura and Shaun met during a night out in Fibber Magees in 2007. After 17 years together and two beautiful boys, the couple mutually decided to get married, as Laura explains;
"We mutually decided to get married in our 17th year, myself and Shaun went to Adelphi Antiques in Dublin to choose a ring together for my birthday last year, Shaun put my ring on my finger in front of our two sons at home that afternoon."
They decided to keep their day intimate and simple with 58 of their nearest and dearest in attendance.
"We had a laid back day, with 58 of our nearest and dearest joining us for our ceremony and reception. We had no bridal party, our two boys Zack 11 and Leo 7 were their dads best men, we choose autumnal burgundy as our pop of colour and we got a lovely sunny day. I choose not to carry a bouquet but opted for a burgundy Vivienne Westwood clutch instead, all the greenery on the day was made by myself."
The ceremony was held in Dublin City Hall and was very personal to the couple.
"Our ceremony was very us, I walked up the aisle to an instrumental version of OutKasts Spottieottiedopalicious, we had instrumental versions of Wu-Tang Clan and Dr Dre played at various parts of the ceremony. Our eldest son read a piece called 'A Little Unusual,' Shaun’s godfather read the 'Art of Marriage' and my best friend read a piece called 'When you find your person, you will know.' Our mams lit candles, myself and Shaun then lit our wedding candle from their candles, we exited City Hall to 'Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher' by Jackie Wilson. Emotions were high!"
Laura wore an ivory fitted mermaid gown with back bow detail, leopard print Steve Madden heels with bows and a burgundyVivienne Westwood clutch. Shaun wore a bespoke made to measure tuxedo by Louis Copeland and Sons.
Following the ceremony Laura, Shaun and their guests headed to the Mayson Hotel.
"Myself and Shaun met in the city centre so we felt it fitting to get married in town, the hotel is beautiful and fit our aesthetic perfectly, good food and drink was crucial to us and the team at the Mayson didn’t disappoint, our guests are still talking about all the amazing food! We kept the entertainment simple - no favours, no games, no photo booths, we had the incredible Conor, Daddy Sax solo for our reception, he then brought his DJ for the after dinner party and we danced the night away!"

Favourite Memory:
Some of my favourite moments were locking eyes with Shaun at the top of the aisle, and exchanging our vows after the 18 years together with our sons at our side, we also loved entering our reception room to the cheers and celebration of our friends and family, it was all really special.
Advice for other couples:
Do your thing! Don’t get caught up in what you think you need to have, do what you want to do as a couple, the day is yours!
