Ireland’s Top Wedding Bands [Part One]: The Connor Mc Keon Band

I think sometimes we forget that the Irish wedding scene is home to some pretty spectacular bands. There are so many talented wedding bands to choose from and I thought it would be fun to showcase them! So today I would like to introduce you to The Connor Mc Keon Band!

Connor’s career as a singer led him to London when he was 17 where he  joined his first band ‘ No Sweat’.  A fully-fledged rock band they quickly gained a massive fan base in the UK performing at some brilliant venues including the famous Marquee Club in Wardour Street – defined as ‘The most important venue in the history of European pop and rock music’.  The club was host to legendary acts like The Rolling Stones, David Bowie and The Who!

The following years sky-rocketed and the band were booked to perform at every major social and corporate event staged in Ireland. During this time, the band’s music style began to evolve and expand to include some of the greatest tunes of the past decades right up to today.  Each song carefully chosen and performed with Connor’s inimitable style. This gave the band a broad repertoire of music and put them in a unique position to tailor the band set list to any great event. From a particular theme/genre of music to a carefully chosen blend of various styles.  The difference is… the band only ever perform ‘great’ songs…..nothing mediocre gets into the set list!

The hand-picked musicians are regular players with some of the biggest names in the music industry from Leona Lewis to Take That.  The band  regularly perform in Ireland’s best music venues including 7 sell-out shows at The National Concert Hall Dublin, Vicar Street, The Cork Opera House, The National Opera House Wexford and many more.

With an envied list of celebrity reviews and sell-out performances these guys will be the talking point of your wedding for a long time to come!  In the words of Tiger Woods .. “These guys knock it outta the park!”

WHY WE WOULD RECOMMEND A LIVE BAND AS WEDDING ENTERTAINMENT

The memories a band will help you create with your guests can’t ever be matched by anything else other than a live band. From a live version of your very first dance to seeing everyone from grandparents to friends, flower girls to page boys dancing the night away. A live band with a charismatic front-man knows instinctively what it takes to fill your dance floor. Engaging with you and your guests and making everyone feel part of something very special – you won’t just get music, you’ll get a tailored, bespoke performance that will last long in the memory of you and your guests for a long time to come.

FAVOURITE SONG TO PERFORM AT WEDDINGS AT THE MOMENT

This has to be a tie between Pencil Full of Lead (purely to see guests going like ninety on the dance floor keeping up with the pace of this song :-)) Higher & Higher (just hard to beat this for dancing) and Paint it Black (Rolling Stones…this song acts like a silent signal to all the guys at the wedding and then chaos ensues on the dance floor!).

OTHER INFORMATION
