Get her to help with DIY decor projects

Perhaps you’ve chosen to get creative and make some of your own wedding decor, assemble your own bouquets or design the invitations yourself. Invite your mam to take part in the creativity! You’ll have fun together and the work will get done faster with more hands on deck.

Take her dress shopping

If you’re the type of bride who wants opinions on your wedding dress, consider taking your mam along with you when you try on dresses. Not keen on having additional opinions on your wedding dress? Consider joining the mams when they shop for their dresses!

Show her your venue

What’s the best way to get your mam excited about your wedding? Take her to the place where it’s all going to happen! Show her why you chose your dream venue and she will fall in love with it, just like you did.

Ask her to spend the morning of the wedding day with you

A lovely way to involve your mam in your wedding is to invite her to be with you on the morning of the wedding day. It’s an intimate moment that will be well documented! Think of the breakfast toasts and the gorgeous photos of her helping you get into your dress.

Involve her in the ceremony

There are a few ways you could do this. Anything from making sure she has priority seating right in the front row to inviting her to walk you down the aisle to inviting her to do a reading, and anything in between!

Include her in some fun photos

We’ve all seen the standard family photos taken at weddings, but why not throw in some fun photos that’ll have everyone smiling and laughing? Anything involving a unique backdrop or some interactive props is sure to have everyone feeling (and looking) relaxed.

Ask for her input regarding the wedding playlist

Ever heard of a playlist party? Well, it goes a little bit like this: You, your Other Half, and both of your families spend an afternoon or evening together, choosing the right music for the wedding day. You can include your favourite wine and snacks, an epic online playlist of everyone’s top picks, and I’d advise you to make sure there’s enough space for a little bit of dancing. You know, to test out the songs and see if they’ll really get everyone up on the dancefloor!
