Trend: The Unfinished Look
Why we love this trend…
Some dresses coming down the bridal catwalks looked more like an unfinished art project than a couture design; featuring raw and rough edges, three or four different textures and a decadent amount of fabric. Although this rough look is definitely unique, we think there is something about the unfinished design that comes across polished and stylish. This trend has to be done well. It’s one thing for couture designers to perfectly assemble a design that looks unfinished, it’s another for you to get some scissors and give it your best shot.
Tip!
To make this look work, one part of the dress needs to be structured or form fitting, this will give a bit of balance to the chaos!
Trend: One Shoulder
Why we love this trend…
One shoulder dresses manage to perfectly combine the classic with the modern and chic. If you have great shoulders than don’t be afraid to experiment with a slinky mermaid cut with a one shoulder strap, you might just fall in love!
Tip!
Necklaces usually don’t work with the one shoulder. If you do choose to wear one, make it subtle.
Trend: Garden Glamour
Why we love this trend…
Bridal designers brought the beauty of a summer garden to their 2010 designs by adding butterflies, floral embellishments and prints to their gowns. Likewise, this is the trend for the bride who wants to bring romance to her look through garden inspired details, perfect for the spring or summer event!
Tip!

Why we love this trend…
Something about a black accent against a shade of white is catching the eye of brides and designers alike. Whether it is black gloves, a black sash or black jewellery; black on white seems to be a trend that easily translates from runway to real bride. It’s probably one of our favourite top fashion trends of 2010.

Black works best on dresses that are shades of cream and ivory, not snow white.

Why we love this trend…
The short dress is perfect for the bride who wants two wedding gowns, one for the ceremony and one for the reception (because having only one is so 2009). Wining, dining and tearing up the dance floor will be much easier in one of these short little numbers. Plus, you get to show off those tanned and toned legs you have been working so hard for!

Half the success of this look is choosing the right shoes to go with it; so find your stiletto soul mate, get a pedicure and dance the night away!

Why we love this trend…
Full and voluptuous, droopy and satin, small and delicate or big and obvious; there is a bow in 2010 for every bride. The well placed bow could be just the detail your dress needs to bring it from ordinary to absolutely fabulous. The best example of bows came from the queen of sashes herself, Vera Wang. Her 2010 collection featured giant, oversized, and sometimes coloured bows on nearly every one of her designs.

A tasteful bow perfectly accentuates a waist or bust, while adding extra detail to a simple dress.
