Gather your girls and make your way to a music festival for the most incredible hen party! While most of the logistics will be set up and planned for you, there are still several things you need to keep in mind. If you are planning a music festival hen party, then take a peek at our top tips!
Who should I invite?
Well, it’s entirely up to you really! We advise keeping your group on the smaller side though. Imagine trying to keep 40 people together for the weekend, let alone for the first couple of hours. A smaller group of 5 – 10 people will be able to stick together and make plans.
Bonus: If you’ve found yourself with the awkward conundrum of whether or not to invite your mam, aunties and other older family members, hosting a music festival hen party might make the decision for you!
How do I choose the right festival?
Here are a few things to keep in mind when selecting the festival you go to:
- The size: Don’t opt for the biggest music festival in the country, which is likely to sell out up to a year in advance. Instead, select a festival that’s a little smaller, where you aren’t likely to lose your besties.
- The location: Any faraway festival which requires flights, passports, going through security and any other travel-related obstacles will just add stress. Aim for a location that’s about 60 – 90 minutes’ drive from where most people live. This makes it easier for guests to purchase a day ticket if they aren’t available for the whole weekend.
- Music styles: It is a music festival hen party after all, so music is an important part of the equation. Select a music festival which caters to the tastes of most of your guests, or with a variety of stages, genres and acts to enjoy.
- Accommodation options: If you can choose a festival with a pre-pitched option, go for it! This means less hunting for camping gear, no set-up or pack-up and more space in the car. The alternative is a festival which has hotels and Air BnBs nearby (and which allows you to leave at night and re-enter the next day).
How do I get my guests excited for the festival?
- A shared playlist: Create a playlist on Spotify and invite your guests to collaborate. Allow everyone to add their favourite songs and then play the playlist while you’re driving to the festival!
- Plan your foodie experience: Music festivals always have a fabulous selection of food trucks and treats. Share the food options with your guests and have them help you decide where to eat!
- Dress the part: Get matching outfits (like all pink, Barbie themed, Mean Girls themed or all out 90s and 00s), fun accessories (think big sunglasses, wigs, hats, temporary tattoos and glitter) and masks with the bride’s partner’s face printed on them!
- Play games: Sure, the entertained is quite literally lined up for you already, but there’s no reason you can’t play some fun hen party games of your own.
