The couple: Kelly & JakeLength of engagement: 16 months | Wedding date: 25th July 2015Wedding Venue: Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort, Blessington, Co. WicklowPhotographer: Sebastian, Art Wedding Photography
We met… Myself and Jake met on holidays 3 and a half years ago. I was away with my cousin while Jake was a musician in one of the Irish bars that we went to every night and as Jake would say it was love at first sight. The rest was history, haha! Our proposal… Jake proposed in March 2014 while he was performing in a packed pub in Temple Bar. I was on a girls night out so I thought. Before I knew it he was talking over the microphone and down on one knee asking me to marry him. As you can imagine the place erupted. My hair and make-up… my hair was in a boho pony tail created by the wonderful and talented Niamh Roche from Peter Mark. My make-up was done by Carla Dunne from MAC, with who you can always expect nothing less than perfect. Our wedding theme/colours… our theme for our wedding day was rustic, burlap and lace with blush pink tones throughout. My dress… my dress was from the amazing Israeli designer Inbal Dror. The colour was blush with ivory lace with a trail fit for a princess. Our ceremony… our wedding ceremony took place in our Lady of Mercy Crosschapel, Blessington, Co. Wicklow. The only word to describe the church was breathtaking from top to bottom with cherry blossoms the whole way up the aisle. Thanks to the amazing Linda Flanagan from Atmosphere Displays for doing such a great job – it was flawless. And let’s not forget the brilliant gospel choir from Lucan who had our guests dancing in their seats. What our bridal party wore… Our bridesmaids wore an ivory dress to the knee with blush detail. Simple but fab. Our flower girl Ellie… let’s just say she stole the show with her ivory lace one shoulder princess dress, pearl handbag and matching shoes! Stunning! His suit… The suits were bought from Moss Bros Liffey Valley. The groom and groomsmen wore a light blue 3 piece suit. The groom who wore a blush pink tie and the groomsmen wore pale blue ties. The two dads wore a 3 piece navy Ted Baker suit to mix things up a little. Our ring bearer Callum was a mini version of the groomsmen. But most handsome by far! Our four page boys wore to the knee pale blue shorts with a white shirt, pink dickie bows and braces topped off with white sunglasses, oh and how could we forget about the personalised Converse. We chose our photographer because… we chose Sebastian from Art Wedding Photography to capture our day. After hearing so many good things about him and viewing his previous work, we knew he was the right man for us and boy did we make the right decision as our pictures speak louder than words. We chose our venue because… our reception took place in Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort located along side Blessington lake. We both fell in love with it instantly and knew it was the perfect place for us.Our menu… consisted of Potato and Leek Soup followed by the choice of Salmon or Chicken Vol au Vent. Main was a choice of Fillet Steak or Monk Fish and dessert was Chocolate Fudge Brownie. Our honeymoon… we went to Mexico and Las Vegas on honeymoon and had the most amazing time.My favourite part of the wedding day… the church by far was the best part of our day. The decor was breathtaking, the atmosphere was like nothing we have seen before – people were dancing in their seats, singing, clapping, enjoying every minute. We danced our way out of the church as Mr and Mrs Mohamed! My piece of advice for other brides… would be to take a minute or two out of your special day to stand back and take in everything you’ve accomplished so that you can enjoy and cherish the day you worked so hard to make perfect.SuppliersWedding ceremony: Lady of Mercy Crosschapel, Blessington, Co.
