Wedding Colour Schemes Inspired by Real Weddings

Décor & Flowers

The best place to find wedding inspiration is from past brides and grooms! Today we’ve got some incredibly beautiful real life wedding colour schemes from real weddings. Some of these were inspired by the season (Autumn is a fave!), some were a little more out there (like the one inspired by a football club!) and some were simply inspired by the prettiness of the colour combo. Whatever your taste and style, you’ll find some inspiration below…

Rose Gold, Blush and Burgundy

“I found it very difficult to pick colours at the beginning. I wanted something really romantic and whimsical and colours that really stuck out.  We ended up choosing a rose gold, blush & burgundy colour scheme and the colours were beautiful together. Once we had our colour scheme everything just fell into place.”

Red and Black

“Paddy is a huge Bohemian Football Club fan so we decided that we would use their colours as our theme for the wedding. The colours were red and black and actually looked great together so I was happy to go along with it.”

Gold, White and Blush Pink

“Mixture of golds, white, blush pink were our colours. We are less is more people, well Amelia is & we wanted muted colours which make an impact when altogether but aren’t too in your face. We had rose gold sequin table clothes on both the Donut & entry table. We had a mix of gold’s throughout the venue from candle holders to photo frames. We tied in the blush pink in the flowers & table favours, whenever we ever saw anything that matched our colour palette we bought it.”

Neutral Tones

“I waited until I picked my dress to see what colours would blend well with it. The dress I chose was ivory lacy with antique ivory lining peeping through. After some research with the girls on pinterest we settled with neutral tones to match my dress. I’ve always been drawn to pink so we went with silver pink for the bridesmaid dresses. The flowers were a mix of pink roses, white freesia, pink feathery astilbe, a few wispy hints of greenery and gypsophilia sprayed gold.”

Blue and Blush Pink

“I knew I wanted to incorporate some light blush pink tones into our decor as I thought it would fit in well with the time of year. I went for a white bouquet with roses and hydrangeas. I ended up going for blue for the bridesmaids’ dresses and we did their bouquets with white and pink flowers which were gorgeous with their dresses.”

Blush Pink, Grey and Purple

“Our colour theme was mainly a mixture of blush pink, grey and purple – however the flowers also added touches of bright coral pink, plum, red and ivory – along with my mother’s outfit bringing in a hint of duck egg blue! I love the mix of blush pink, grey and purple however I didn’t want the colours to look too muted, hence why we brought in a combination of brighter summery colours – it all turned out so much better than I had imagined and the guests were all raving over how beautiful the flowers were.”

Dove Grey, Lilac and Green

“Our colours were dove grey/lilac, green and off-white with my bridesmaids wearing dove grey dresses with a hint of lilac in the colour and beautiful off white beading and very simple bouquets of babies breath. The florist incorporated a little more colour into my bouquet but everything very subtle with hints of colour.”

Rose Gold and White

“Our wedding theme was boats and marines. As Marcio had been a marine and we both love boats the colours were rose gold and white.”

Burgundy, Ivory and Silver

“We didn’t have a theme in mind, but it was Vintage-esque, with burgundy, ivory and silver colours and pearls. I’ve always loved the vintage look and burgundy slotted in well as well as it being my Hogwarts house colour.”

Blue and Purple

“The main colour palette for our wedding was a mix of blues and purples. The bridesmaids dresses were a greyish shade of blue and Phil and the groomsmen wore navy suits. Phil wore a blue and grey waistcoat to make his outfit a bit different. The flowers were a mix of blues, purples and cream.”

Purple

“The colour theme was purple. The bridesmaids wore purple, the flowers were purple and there was of course a purple ribbon and diamante buckle on our invites. From speaking with our guests the invites set the tone of the theme and they knew what to expect!”

Burgundy and Copper

“We chose to have our wedding in the autumn, inspired by the rich colours, and warm vibes. It was actually a trip to see the Fall colours in Boston that made us realise that we wanted to have our wedding at this time of year, changing from our initial plans of a summer wedding. We thought that Burgundy would be an appropriate colour for this time of year, complemented with accents of copper here and there. The boys’ suits were navy.”
