Planning & Advice
wedding timekeeping tips

Ask any of your friends about their wedding day and we bet they’ll all say it went SO fast! And it’s true, after months, maybe years of planning, your wedding day will whiz by in a flash. One way to combat that and ensure you have the time of your life is to keep the day running on time. From your grand arrival to plenty of dancing time, today we’ve got lots of tips to make sure your day goes smoothly and on time.

Timekeeping Advice

For the bride

– Have a pre-determined get glam arrangement. Decide who is getting what done, when, in what order the hairdresser and makeup artist will work.

– Consider the journey and your transport. Of course, travelling by horse and carriage will take considerably longer than by car. Take this into account when you’re working out how long the journey to your ceremony will take. Also bare in mind any roadworks or road closures that could pop up during your celebrations.

– Enlist a timekeeper! It’s so easy to get carried away and loose track of time. If someone is in charge of making sure you are ready on time this will ease any panic moments.

For the groom

– Make sure the groom knows what time he needs to arrive at the ceremony where he will spend time welcoming guests.

– Check with your florist if they are putting the buttonholes on at the ceremony, make sure both parties know the timings.

– Give him a timekeeper as well – see above point!

For the guests

– Inform guests of any last minute road closures or tricky directions to the ceremony via email, text or Whattsapp.

– Use your order of service to share the running of the day with a cute timeline at the back. Chat to your stationer about adding this. If guests are aware what’s happening and at what time, it will definitely run smoother.

For the reception

– Once your guests and the bridal party arrive at the reception venue now is the time to relax and let your wedding co-ordinator take over. It’s time to party!
