Wedding Wednesdays: Little Wedding Luxuries That Make A Big Difference [Episode 135]

Podcast

We’re not talking about big expenses and extravagant purchases, but the little touches that help your guests to feel cherished. These are charming ideas that add a little bit of luxury without overdoing it and going over budget!

We’re saving the best one for last, and it won’t cost you anything!

Your ‘getting ready’ attire

It’s totally worth splurging a little on that bridal robe and personalised hangers for the morning of your wedding! You’ll end up with some beautiful wedding morning photos with your girls as well as some lovely keepsakes.

The welcome drinks

The experience of your guests should be a huge factor when considering where to splurge! Have glasses of something (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, or even something as simple as glasses of lemon water) given to guests as they arrive for the ceremony.

Last night snacks

When everyone’s been dancing the night away and having the time of their lives, you’ll want to treat them to a late night snack. Whether you opt for Tayto Sandwich packs, a popcorn bar or late night pizza, your guests will love you for it!

A wedding planner

You may have already decided that you can’t afford a wedding planner, but if you consider how much stress they take off your plate and how much money they can save you, I highly recommend reconsidering. If you genuinely can’t afford one, consider a day-of coordinator or a wedding venue that comes with a coordinator!

A signature wedding scent

There’s a scientific term called Proustian Moment, where a sensory experience triggers memories. Like the smell of sunscreen reminding you of summers on the beach. Well, by wearing a signature scent throughout your engagement and on your Big Day, you’ll elicit fond memories for years to come whenever you wear that perfume!

Beautiful lighting

If you want to set the mood for the day and make a small purchase that has a big impact, then focus on lighting! Fairy lights, festoons, mirror balls, uplights or a focus on candles… choose your preference and then go big.

Coffee van

Another fabulous one for the guests to enjoy! Right after your ceremony, have a gourmet coffee van outside, ready to make tasty hot drinks for everyone to enjoy. It’s a cozy touch that coffee drinkers will love.

Wedding favours

Always choose something that guests will enjoy and not throw away. Something edible is usually a good option, particularly for guests who aren’t particularly sentimental. Another good idea is a printed photo from your photobooth!

Bathroom baskets

If you’ve ever walked into a bathroom and been relieved to find a bathroom basket full of deodorant, gum and tampons.. You’ll know why guests love them so much!

Comfortable shoes

When it comes to saving money, don’t do it with your shoes. Pick shoes that are beautiful and comfortable. Sparing yourself of having sore feet all day is a luxury you simply can’t go without!

Time

This is the biggest luxury of all! Take a few minutes to enjoy your wedding with your partner and celebrate the fact that you are married. Ask your mom to help you put your veil on and just take a few extra seconds to soak it all up. Take selfies with your siblings and don’t rush through it.
