Celebrating Excellence in the Irish Wedding Industry – The WeddingsOnline.ie Awards 2013

Articles

It’s just over two weeks since we rolled out the red carpet for the 4th Annual WeddingsOnline.ie Awards 2013 in Clontarf Castle. The Wedding Awards were started by WeddingsOnline.ie to recognise the dedication, quality and passion in the wedding industry. Consequently, the event is now one of the highlights of the year for many suppliers and venues all over Ireland.

Over 28,000 brides and grooms nationwide voted for their top suppliers and venues in a wide range of categories. A panel of expert industry specialists chose the final winners. Each category faced considerable competition from the other suppliers shortlisted. Certainly all participants, both nominees and winners alike, were delighted with the recognition of their hard work and dedication from WeddingsOnline.ie users.

Black tie was the order of the night, with the men all donning their Sunday best and looking immaculate. Of course, the ladies brought the glamour on the night, with beautiful gowns and perfectly groomed hair. Guests were treated to Champagne and canapes on arrival, as everyone got chatting and settled in for an exciting night!

The fabulous Viva Manila provided the reception entertainment on the night. As a result, they had everyone swaying along to the cool sounds of the acoustic guitars as they mingled around the foyer.

The decor for the event was done by the wonderful Sharon and her team at Frog Prince Wedding Days. They created an elegant setting of golds, creams and whites accented with beautiful lighting from table lamp centrepieces. Finally, Do me a Favour provided the lovely favours to take home as a memento of the night.

We are also delighted to announce that the charity auction by The Elms at Punchestown raised over €3,000 for The Matilda Project. The Matilda Project works with teams of volunteers in Zimbabwe who organized themselves to respond to the HIV crisis. These volunteers are local people who bring Home Based Care to their sick and dying neighbours. Furthermore, they care for children whose parents have died, and facilitate support groups for people living with HIV.

We would like to thank those who participated on the night, and those who so generously donated prizes for the auction.
